Signatures overview

electraform allows you to upload signatures for engineers. There are a number of ways to obtain a signature, below are the best two options to make sure the signature is clear and legible.

The signature file should be:

  • The size of the image should be no larger than 64kB
  • The size of the image should be no smaller than 1kb - otherwise the image may pixelate when uploaded
  • the image needs to be a jpg or jpeg type - if you need help converting your image, attach it to an email and send it here
  • If your signature needs cropping, ensure there is very little white space around it, otherwise the signature will appear tiny and sometimes invisible.

Option 1 - Sign a blank piece of paper and scan your signature into a computer

Using a clean, white sheet of paper, sign your name as you normally would, preferably using a black felt pen - a Sharpie is ideal. Then using a scanner, scan the image into your computer. You will end up with a file looking something like this. As you can see, the signature has a lot of white space around it, so you will need to crop it.

Using any image editing program, open your scanned signature, and crop the image leaving a small amount of white space around the image. Save the image to a folder on your computer so you can find it in the next step.

Option 2 - Use an online app for signing your name
